Our Services

LDR began as Local Dad Repairs, dedicated to helping our neighbors maintain their homes.  Though we no longer accept new clients for these small repair services, we still try to accommodate our long time clients with these small projects as we can.  Today LDR is a full service design/build and renovation firm.  We specialize in Passive House construction and certification methods, producing projects that can save the homeowner up to 90% on their energy costs.

Do you have another contractor building a large project that you want to audit with a third party or have someone that has your interests and ONLY your interests on-site every day?  We can bring all of our various abilities to bear to look after your interests.

Both Juhani and Jeff are certified Passive House Consultants and Designers.  Juhani specializes in the design and architectural parts of the project while Jeff is the the production specialist.  Though we can design and build new homes, we have decided to really specialize in retrofitting older homes to the Passive House standard because there are so many of these homes in the Hudson Valley that were built in the days of cheap oil and ignorance about climate change.  Just think about the possibility of living in a home that is heated primarily with sunlight, your body heat and the waste heat from electronics, cooking and your clothes dryer!
